Gastrointestinal Biome

Diarrhea and upset stomach can be upsetting for both our pets and ourselves. Like their human family, some pets suffer from sensitive digestion and may need to be on a special diet to support their specific needs. Luckily for us, there is new food to help with animals suffering from diarrhea, constipation, or who need a higher fiber diet.

Hill’s new Gastrointestinal Biome has four major components to help with sensitive bowels.

Added fiber to help with both constipation and diarrhea – fiber can help form normal stools and, combined with fresh drinking water, can help keep out pet’s stools regular and formed.

Omega 3 fatty acids – while we often use these fatty acids to support joint function and for skin support, their anti-inflammatory effects are also good for bowels that are irritated from chronic gastrointestinal upset

Vitamin E and C – vitamin C helps with absorption and both vitamins E and C will help boost the body’s immune system

ActivBiome+ is a special fiber prebiotic that feeds the good bacteria in the gut to help it grow and maintain normal GI flora and fauna.

This diet can be fed as an adult maintenance diet. There is a diet for cats with dry and wet food and the diet for dogs comes in the dry food. It can slowly transition over seven days, but if the animal has diarrhea can change over right away, you can see improvement within 24 hours. This diet also has a component to protect urinary health for animals that are prone to stones or crystals.
